How to do Classical Ballet Stage make-over...




For those who are interested to learn stage make-up for classical ballet, below are the steps that you can follow. Standard classical ballet requires basic brown tones of matt & pearl eyeshadow. The look is supposed to be much exaggerated to ensure that the audiences are able to view the features and facial expressions for afar. This look enhances the eyes so it appears a lot bigger on stage. Performance and stage make-up are meant to be very heavy and dark.

Note: All products used below are from the Grimas range.

1) Cleanse with Grimas cleansing lotion.

2) Use ‘Grimas Under Make-Up Base’ over entire face.

3) Apply Cake make-up foundation

4) 101 Black eyeshadow/rouge for eyebrows

5) Use crème make-up 001 white for eyebase and 704 pearl eyeshadow for highlight.

6) Next apply 890 matt eyeshadow / rouge & 708 pearl eyeshadow over lower eyelids.

7) Use 566 dark brown matt eyeshadow/rouge & 785 dark brown pearl eyeshadow to
create an extreme ‘V’ shape.

8) Brush on white 001 crème make-up at the bottom of the eye together with
704 pearl eyeshadow.

9) Draw a white line at the side of the eyes.

10) Line the bottom of the eye with 566 dark brown eyeshadow/rouge.

11) Liquid liner - 101 Black eyeshadow /rouge

12) Apply mascara.

13) Apply fake thick & long eyelashes.

14) Rouge the face.

15) Finally apply lipstick to match.


At last, there you have created a Prima Donna Classical ballet stage make-up.
